SANTA MONICA, CA – Over 3,000 people gathered at the Santa Monica pier on Oct. 25 to participate in a Partnership Walk. The efforts of the Aga Khan Foundation U.S.A which organized the event and the thousands of participants helped raise over $300,000 for various projects to alleviate global poverty and promote a partnership between America and the developing world. The entire amount will go directly to its programs.
There were more than 400 volunteers helping participants with all the pre-registration details. After that, one would pass through a ‘tunnel’ with posters highlighting the innumerable projects of the AKF. On entry into the section of the pier set aside for the event, visitors could browse around numerous tents in which activities relating to the event were being conducted.
