Some people seek highs in prohibitive forms; others jump from aeroplanes or climb mountains. Pioneering business leader Yasmin Jetha, newly appointed Bupa CIO and former technology and operating chief of media giant the Financial Times
(FT), relishes leading transformation programmes.
“I love challenges and I suppose I always have. Isn’t life all about change?” she asks. “I’ve often had roles that involve trouble shooting. I came into the FT after a period of underinvestment in IT, and the catch up has been at times daunting but exhilarating when successfully completed.”
Jetha sits in the FT’s offices on London’s south bank, overlooking the River Thames. She reflects on her exciting career path, which has encompassed senior IT leadership roles in media and finance. Jetha recently decided to take on a new challenge and is set to move to private healthcare specialist Bupa.
Congratulations, Yasmin! It is wonderful to see your name in the stars and I’m reveling in the joy of being your classmate in Aga Khan Girls Secondary School in Dar es Salaam, yay!
