History of the Aga Khan Road in Altit Hunza
The first ever project accomplished by the Village Organization (VO) Altit, community within a stipulated time assisted by AKRSP in 1983. The inhabitants of Altit possess a deep insight in feelings for Mowlana Hazir Imam’s gracious and kind visit of the project. The Imam of the Time walked on foot up to the “Chhukushalas” (one of the Mohallahs of Altit village that leads to Duiker where the Noor-e-Toque is located) where the Jamat has built a monument in commemoration of His historic visit/walk.
Future perspective
The historical 900 year old Altit Fort is in the process of its completion soon; there is a splendid Gift “Noor-e-Toque” at Duiker presented to Mowlana Hazair Imam by the Jamat. The people of Altit are envisaging a remarkable combination of FORT & NOOR-E-TOQUE in the years to come with a view to attract tourism in order for the people to generate income through potential projects in the area.
