Faraz Juma used three hours and 30 minutes to win 65km of Aga Khan Scouts, Guides and Youth Cycling Competition recently.

Sadiq Halari from youth groups finished second while Jamil Visram was third representing scouts in the race which started in Dar es Salaam and ended in Bagamoyo.

Danish Damani and Hijaz Khalifan emerged fourth and fifth, respectively.

Aga Khan Scouts chairman Sameer Somji said that that the competition was aimed at promoting the game as well as to identify talents.

“We wanted to develop their talents as well as giving them some experience and exposure in cycling,“ said Somji, adding that only 27 cyclists out of 31 finished the race. The cyclists were escorted by National Risk Management in the event which was sponsored by Lifan Automobiles.
