CA-NEWS (TJ) – Prince Karim Aga Khan IV, the spiritual leader and Imam of the Ismaili Muslims will arrive to Tajikistan on October 31.
Prince Karim Aga Khan IV will pay six-day visit by the invitation of Tajik’s Government in the framework of his golden jubilee celebration, informed Aga Khan Development Network (AKDN) representation in Tajikistan.
Aga Khan will visit Dushanbe and Khorog, where he will meet with local residents.
It is expected that Aga Khan will meet with governmental representative and Emomali Rahmon, the president of Tajikistan.
Aga Khan IV is the Crown Imam of the Ismaili community. He inherited the throne from his grandfather, Sultan Muhammad Shah Aga Khan, and became the Imam of the Ismaili community in 1957 at the age of 20.
The Aga Khan Development Network, headquartered in Paris, was founded by Ismailis Imamate in 1967. Currently, its branches located in Canada, Great Britain, Switzerland, Pakistan and Tajikistan. The organization conducts its activities in three areas: economic development, social development and culture.
