Algonquin College Ottawa participates in 2008 World Partnership Golf

Faculty in the School of Hospitality and Tourism took a swing at global poverty on Wednesday, August 13, at the Chateau Cartier Resort and Golf Club in Aylmer, Quebec. More than $85,000 was raised locally to support the work of Aga Khan Foundation Canada in Asia and Africa. Tournaments in six cities raised a total of $1.5 million.

Net proceeds from the event will go directly to programs in health, education, rural development, as well as supporting community-based organizations in some of the poorest parts of the world. Visit akfc.ca for more information.

The event was organized by dedicated volunteers, including Altaf Sovani, Chair of Algonquin College’s School of Hospitality and Tourism.
