BISHKEK, April 18 – Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan Igor Chudinov suggested the Aga Khan Development Network (AKDN) to take part in organization of a competition for the best children’s work in Kyrgyz language on three nominations: children’s poetry, prose and fairy tales.
The Kyrgyz PM made this suggestion during the meeting with head of the AKDN Nurjehan Mawani, the governmental press service reports.
N. Mavani stressed that her organization pays much attention to development of children and she is glad that I. Chudinov is in earnest about children’s literature in Kyrgyz language. According to her words, the Aga Khan Development Network has already issued a book for children and hopes to distribute this book to regions. This book includes of the best works of Kyrgyz writers for children.
I. Chudinov noted that it is necessary to coordinate activity on international organizations and the Government to make the work in this direction more effective.
On the results of the competition for the best children’s work its planned to issue an anthology from works of the competition winners. At the meeting the sides also discussed construction of University of Central Asia in Naryn and cooperation in the sphere of vocational education.
