Ismaili Muslims show strength and unite with Princess Yasmin Aga Khan for the 2025 Chicago Rita Hayworth Gala in support of Alzheimer’s Association.
The annual Rita Hayworth Gala was celebrated on the Saturday before Mother’s Day Sunday – Saturday, May 10th, 2025 at the iconic Old Post Office in Chicago.
Princess Yasmin Aga Khan, Honorary Vice Chair of the Alzheimer’s Association, hosted the Gala, joined by Gala Chairs Rozmin and Ebrahim Valliani, who are dedicated to this cause in memory of Ebrahim’s grandmother, adding a deeply personal dimension to their leadership role.

Over the past four decades, the Chicago Gala, combined with its sister event in New York City, have been impactful fundraisers for the Association, generating over $90 million to drive progress toward its vision of a world without Alzheimer’s and all other dementia.
Since its inception and for over 40 years, several hundred Ismailis across North America exercising the ethos of generosity, stewardship, care and service, have participated and supported the Alzheimer’s Association, and the Rita Hayworth Galas in both Chicago and New York, prominent among them being the Noorani and Valliani families. As an example, Sadruddin Noorani has been a loyal benefactor and member of the Gala Steering Committee since 1996.

Al and Naz Dhalla have supported the Chicago and New York Rita Hayworth Galas since 2017 with a spectacular series of celebrity memorabilia donations from icons like Taylor Swift, Tom Brady, Shohei Ohtani, Lionel Messi and many others in support of the Alzheimer’s Association awareness building and fundraising efforts.
