In 1897 conditions in India are getting grim, 19 year old Jivraj Pradhan, his wife Maniben Nagji Mitha and their 3 children travel in the rough seas to seek a better life in Africa. They land in Mombasa where the British ruled. Alidina Visram the King of Ivory, trains them in running a business in the wilderness of Africa. Jivraj works for Alidina Visram and manages supply depots for supply to the British railway construction. Man Eating Lions kill over a hundred workers from India. Jivraj and his family eventually settle down in Kyotera in Uganda, Alidina Visram dies during the 1st World War trying to recover from loses in Belgian ruled Congo.
