Mawlana Hazar Imam in Mumbai

February 28, 2018: The Ismaili Imamat has a long and historic relationship with India, dating back over a century. AKDN institutions have been active in Mumbai in particular for over 70 years. The Aga Khan Health Services’ Prince Aly Khan Hospital, a 162-bed multi-speciality acute care centre in Mumbai, was established in 1945. The ISO-certified hospital is best known for its services in oncology and cardiovascular diseases, and is renowned as a referral centre regionally and internationally, equipped with an operating complex, oncology department, cardiology department, 24-hour emergency service, and a day surgery unit.

Prior to arriving in Mumbai, Mawlana Hazar Imam visited Delhi, Ahmedabad, and Hyderabad, where alongside activities relating to initiatives of the Ismaili Imamat, he also met with the Jamat of Gujarat and Southern India.
