Asif Virani: Diamond Jubilee Poetry #2 – Imamat

I have pledged in this year of Diamond Jubilee 2017-18 – which I believe is a very special year in each Ismaili mureed’s life – to narrate short poetry recitation each month, until the culmination of the year.

Poetry ‘Imamat’, recited in Urdu, is dedicated to Mawlana Hazar Imam Shah Karim Al Hussaini Aga Khan (Our spiritual father). The gist is, that the concept of Imaamat through Prophet (PBUH), and the eternity of his Noor (Light), begins with the chain of Imam Ali RA (Shia Muslim’s first Imam) and is present today in 49th Imam of the Ismailis. This Noor will always remain in both worlds, and is immortal.
