Rafi Surani: Eagle Scouts

Irfan Ali – February 13th, 2017, Glenview (Chicago), IL. Rafi Surani (18) achieved the highest level (Eagle Scout) attainable in the BOY Scouting program of the Boy Scouts of America (BSA). The designation “Eagle Scout” was founded over one hundred years ago. Only four percent of Boy Scouts are granted this rank after a lengthy review process. The requirements necessary to achieve this rank take years to fulfill. Besides earning at least 21 merit badges, Rafi demonstrated Scout Spirit, an ideal attitude based upon the Scout Oath and Law, service, and leadership. His qualifying project was about educating 7th and 8th graders about high school and how to cope with the new exciting challenge of becoming a freshman in high school. With the support of his family and peers, Rafi completed this project with great success!

We are extremely proud of our son’s achievement said Fatima and Rafiq Surani. We are super excited that Rafi was able to achieve this great honor. But what we as parents are most proud of is knowing that not only Rafi has learned the value of hard work throughout this process, he was also able to become a positive influence, a role model to many youths in our Jamat and extended community.

Congratulations Rafi! Keep up the good work.
