Ismaili Muslim Girl Scouts (Brownie Troop 20563) from Midwest USA jamat participated in an outreach service project held at Caroline Hedger senior building (managed by Habitat Company) in Chicago, IL.
This service project was specifically arranged for all senior citizen residents of the building. Goal for this outreach project was to spend quality time with senior members of the extended community. Girl Scouts started the program with singing American anthem followed by couple of girl scouts songs. They also engaged the seniors present there by playing fun games, read books, made and decorated individual and unique angels, and painted a tree with “creative” materials as brushes. They did a small performance of “raasra” for the seniors and also thought them this cultural dance. Seniors of the building absolutely loved the program! They appreciated all the girl scouts and parents present there for spending good quality time with them, and invited them to come back again soon.
