His Highness the Aga Khan intends to extend major hospital centers in all the countries of the East African Community – Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, Rwanda in addition to Burundi and Sudan

Brussels, Belgium – November 11,2016: His Highness Prince Karim Aga Khan having a conversation with Libérât Mfumukeko, the Secretary General of the East African Community (EAC)  has said that he will add strength to the hospital in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania expanding it to 600 beds and build schools hubs to many hospitals of the Aga Khan Development Networks (AKDN) in the region.

His Highness the Aga Khan was expressing his commitment in the region which goes back over a century. In extending his support to the EAC, His Highness will also build and extend major centers in all the countries that form the East Africa Community – Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, Rwanda in addition to Burundi and Sudan in the future.

In Rwanda, AKDN operates the Serena Hotel in Kigali and Lake Kivu. AKDN operates in more than 30 countries worldwide..
