A 32-bed care home in Birkenhead, UK has been sold to an Ismaili Family from Vancouver, Canada.
The Pabani family has acquired the Residential Care Home in Dacre Hill, Wirral – The care home transaction is estimated to have been £1.6 million.
The home has been on the market for the past three years. The family will be refurbishing the 32-bed centre and opening up an extra 8 rooms that have already been granted planning permission.
Grovewood Residential Home, established in 1986, attracted interest from a number of parties before a sale was agreed that keeps the existing management structure in place.
Gary Yeardley, associate director in Christie & Co’s Manchester office, handled the sale.
He said: “At their own admission, our clients were overdue retirement. There is currently a strong appetite for care and rest home facilities in the region. We are seeing an increase in enquiries from existing operators, as well as those who are new to the sector, and we expect this level of demand to continue.”
Former owner Mrs Pat McArdle said: “We are very happy with the purchasers and think they have the right attitude and experience to continue and improve the business.”
Operations Coordinator, Rozmina Pabani, said: “This home will be given the care and attention required in order to provide an unparalleled standard of care.”
Director, Shaquille Pabani, added: “care homes are a hot topic at present, with an ageing population and a limited number of quality facilities in the area. We are ready to exceed expectations and support the elderly community in the area as best we can.”
Dr. Anizmohamed Pabani will be heading the Quality Care side to ensure current and new processes are monitored and evaluated to provide the best quality service to residents.
