In May, residents of Fort McMurray, Alberta, Canada, had to evacuate their town due to the ravaging forest fires that burned down several homes. Nurain Lakhani and Zachary Wallace, students in grade 6 at Cloverdale school in Edmonton, Alberta, got their school involved in helping the students of Fort McMurray. They presented their idea to the principal of their school and drafted a letter that was sent to all parents informing them about the initiative to raise funds and donate supplies to the students of the school in Fort McMurray.

Along with the principal and parents of the students, Zachary and Nurain purchased additional items from Staples at discounted prices. Staples made a cash donation and shipped the 7 boxes of supplies to students at Wandering River School in Fort McMurray at no cost.

These were gifts to kids of Fort McMurray from kids of Cloverdale.
