In April 2016, Sajida H. Shroff, CEO, Altamont Group was invited to speak at the Seventh Annual Gulf Comparative Education Society Symposium held at the Arab Open University, Kuwait.
Given Altamont Group’s focus on education innovation and smart education cities in emerging economies, Sajida was invited to discuss Altamont Group’s research and success in Knowledge Development within the TransNational Education environments.
Sajida presented the challenges along with some innovations that support knowledge development within the MENA region.
Sajida also emphasized the inherent opportunity for knowledge development that is already present within the MENA region as well the challenges which include:
- Economics
- Government Regulations
- Accreditation Requirements
Sajida further emphasized the remarkable opportunity for diverse and contextual knowledge development within the fast growing and robust TransNational Education environment. She spoke about the changes required to enable value and commercially relevant research/knowledge outputs.
Sajida concluded by highlighting the positive support and policy impact as displayed by innovative approaches to accreditation and licensing as seen in the United Arab Emirates.
