Keivan Hirji, Executive Assistant to BC Deputy Premier, presents at University of VictoriaKeivan Hirji is the Executive Assistant to the Hon. Rich Coleman, Minister of Natural Gas Development, Minister Responsible for Housing, and Deputy Premier.

In this role, Hirji aids the Deputy Premier in building a thriving and robust Liquid Natural Gas sector in BC and contributing to affordable housing across the province. Prior to his appointment in the Deputy Premier’s office, Hirji worked as the Constituency Assistant to the Hon. Andrew Wilkinson, Minister of Advanced Education and MLA for Vancouver-Quilchena. Before entering public service, Hirji was the Communications Officer and Events Coordinator for the BC Care Provider’s Association, the industry association for BC’s seniors care sector. During this time, he played a key role in modernizing the organization and refocusing its strategic plan. He also spearheaded the launch of SafeCare BC, the occupational health and safety organization for BC’s continuing care sector.

Hirji graduated from the University of Victoria in 2013 with a Bachelors Degree in political science. While attending the University of Victoria he served on a number of boards including UPS, Grad Council, and OnPolitics Academic Journal. Hirji also spent his summers in a lead marketing role with the Capilano Suspension Bridge. Born and raised on the North Shore, Hirji remains connected to his hometown by acting as Vice-President of the North Vancouver-Seymour BC Liberal Riding Association and as a volunteer snowboard instructor with Vancouver Adaptive Snow Sports, a program teaching disabled individuals how to ski and snowboard.
