Mountain students raise trail safety concerns – Metro Vancouver has change of heart, to seek solution
Wanda Chow for BurnabyNow, June 17, 2015: Yasmin Rajwani likes to take shortcuts to and from school just like any of her schoolmates, but sometimes it’s not worth the risk.
But when she realized others were not so cautious, the Grade 9 student at Burnaby Mountain secondary decided to raise safety concerns about a trail often used by students.
A solution has been elusive, until now.
The attraction is a savings of up to 20 minutes for students heading home to the Government Street area or even more for those seeking earlier bus connections to the Cariboo Hill neighbourhood.
