Our Journey Gujarat, a private program is a grass-roots organisation dedicated to helping with education, health and life issues of the ultra-poor Khoja Ismailis of India – Gujarat. The team, headed by Razia Nathani Suleman visits there annually, at great personal discomfort, for the past 11 years. This is to ensure that the donation/welfare funds contributed by family and friends are properly employed in support of the needy as all 100% of the funds raised are donated back. The team members travel at their personal expense. To date, over 100 ultra poor children have been supported either by sending them to the various hostels or to the best school available in their area. In Ahmedabaad, the team supports over 25 families on welfare due to unavoidable circumstances.
