Join in the growing international movement inspired by personal philanthropy and service that results in meaningful change. For a fourth year, the Aga Khan Foundation (AKF) is once again participating in #GivingTuesday to amplify our effort at breaking the cycle of poverty.
Our #GivingTuesday campaign begins on December 1. We are sharing a series of compelling stories through our digital channels that show how our work profoundly impacts lives on a daily basis. Embracing the spirit of the holiday giving season, we kick off our campaign in concert with over 30,000 other organizations in 68 countries on Giving Tuesday. It’s a refreshing juxtaposition to the widely recognized shopping events of Black Friday and Cyber Monday, when people “give back” following the celebration of Thanksgiving.
As we reflect about what we are most thankful for this holiday season, let us remember that meaningful change starts with us. You can be a part of that.
Last year AKF’s campaign of “How I See Change” proved to be a momentous success. You helped us raise $178,000 dollars – over eight times beyond our goal! These donations contributed to improving the lives of millions living in impoverished communities – like people you will meet in the upcoming weeks through our blogs, Facebook posts and tweets.
This #GivingTuesday at AKF we aim to raise $200,000. You can help us reach that goal by sharing our appeals and stories with friends and family – compelling stories from everyday people. Their hope and resilience underscores the positive force that “Building Better Futures” has on all of us, whether we live in the U.S., Afghanistan, Kenya, Mali or Pakistan.
Every gift, of any size, makes a difference. As a community I know the collective impact we are capable of making; I see it daily. Celebrate this Giving Tuesday with us by donating toward our $200,000 goal starting December 1, and be part of the movement to help communities around the world build their self-reliance while inspired by better futures.
Happy Holidays!
