EPCOR Utilities Inc. (EPCOR) announces the appointment of Nizar J. Somji to its Board of Directors effective September 11, 2015.
Mr. Somji is an excellent addition to EPCOR’s Board of Directors. His list of accomplishments as a business leader and corporate director are impressive. Mr. Somji first distinguished himself as a talented and successful entrepreneur and information technology strategist,” said EPCOR Board Chair Hugh J. Bolton. “Through the years, he has also contributed considerably to the betterment of society, as a leader and mentor for various community and educational organizations.”
Mr. Somji was the founder and former President & CEO of Matrikon, a leader in industrial intelligence, which developed software allowing plants to operate safety, reliably and efficiently, in addition to cyber security solutions. He grew the company from a one person operation to a multinational employing 600 people, and achieving 22 years of profitability.
