
The Consul General of Pakistan Mr. Faisal Niaz Tirmizi on behalf of the Government and people pf Pakistan and members of the Pakistani community in Chicago conveyed his heartfelt condolences to the President Murad Bhaidani of the Shia Imami Ismaili Council for the Midwestern USA on the tragic killing of 45 Ismaili Muslims in Karachi. He said that the people of Pakistan from all walks of life are standing with their Ismaili brothers and sisters in this hour of sorrow and grief.
The Pakistani nation is grief stricken and deeply dismayed over the killing of 45 innocent Pakistanis. The Consul General stated that Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif while chairing a high level meeting in Karachi, soon after the incident. has issued directives for the apprehension of culprits involved in this tragic incident and directed the law enforcement agencies to keep a close eye on anti-state and anti-social elements.
While touching upon the role of the Ismaili Muslims in Pakistan, the Consul General said that our Ismail brothers have played front line role in establishing Pakistan. Sir Sultan Muhammad Shah, Aga Khan III was the first President of the All-India Muslim League. Prince Ali Salman Agha Khan, father of H.H. Prince Agha Khan IV was the Ambassador and Pakistan’s Representative to the United Nations during the 1960s. Ismaili Muslim Community has played vanguard role in setting up highly reputed business houses in Pakistan over the years and are considered as economic bedrock of Pakistan.
He also stated that he was confident that the people of Pakistan will not be shaken by this horrific act but will rise to the challenge and take the flight to all those who profess and propagate hatred and bigotry. He assured Mr. Murad Bhaidani that the Government and people of Pakistan are committed to preserve and ensure freedom, equality and social justice as core values of our polity as desired by our enlightened forbears.
