February 2014: The Indiana men’s tennis team continues to add some of the most talented players in Canada, as IU head coach Randy Bloemendaal announced the addition of Raheel Manji, the No. 2 ranked under 18 junior in the country.
Manji, a native of Pickering, Ontario, won the 2013 U16 Canadian National Singles and Doubles Championship and was part of the 2013 Canadian Junior Davis Cup Team in singles and doubles. Manji Competed in men’s singles for Team Ontario winning a gold medal at the 2013 Canada Summer Games.
“I am very excited about Raheel,” Bloemendaal said. “As I got to know him better in the recruiting process, I was most impressed with his growth mindset with a drive to excel and desire to work through the tough situations. He is a national champion who is a proven winner with goals of playing at the highest level. Coming in a little bit younger than most of his peers, Raheel is someone who should blossom in college and make a big jump as he matures.”
