Kenya: Emmy Award Winning Documentary Filmmaker Andrew Tkach in Nairobi!

INTERNATIONALLY renown documentary filmmaker and broadcast news producer, Andrew Tkach, is in Nairobi, Kenya.

Andrew, who spent 13 years as the lead producer for Christiane Amanpour’s 60 Minutes at CBS and CNN, has won eight Emmy Awards, the highest honour in American TV broadcasting.

He is in Nairobi as a distinguished visitor and lecturer at the Aga Khan University’s (AKU) graduate school of Media and Communications (GSMC) for the film, On The Frontline Of Ukraine’s Revolution.

AKU-GSMC, hosted an afternoon seminar to preview and discuss Tkach’s latest documentary on Ukraine ‘Generation Maidan’.

The film captures the journey revolutionaries have undergone at the frontline of Ukraine’s revolution war. Tkach went behind the scenes and interviewed medics, musicians, and activists that were there during the massacre in February.

Tkach spent 13 years as the lead producer for Christiane Amanpour at 60 Minutes and CNN.

Present were AKU’s academic affairs associate dean Rhonda Breit, Aga Khan School of Media Studies dean Micheal Meyer and Horn of Africa producer Arjun Kahli.
