Tanzania: 80 per cent of kindergarten age children in rural Lindi missing school

More than 80 per cent of kindergarten age children in rural Lindi are missing classes because of unfriendly environments at schools there and parents are isolating disabled children from school and society, research findings have revealed.

Presenting research findings on ‘Early literacy development for sustainable education’ Associated Professor (literacy development) of The Aga Khan University Dr Marriote Ngwaru said more than 80 per cent of kindergarten age children study in very unfriendly environments.
