However, al-Farabi’s influence on later Ismaili thought, in particular on al-Kirmani, was evident and left no further doubt. Certain Farabian tenets – in particular, his cosmological system – were skilfully incorporated in the official Ismaili doctrine of the Fatimid period and were later subjected to mystical interpretation by some Tayyibi scholars.
