Neelam Hirji: My Personal Story – The Creation of the Book

Neelam Hirji: My Personal Story - The Creation of the BookA wife, a mother of two, a teacher and a daughter were roles that I knew I had to live up to and fulfill in this lifetime. Feeling grateful but not quite fulfilled, there were many times whereby I would question and reflect…”Is this really all there is to life?”

I experienced a very “dark” period which consisted of marital compromises, some health issues and the loss of my beloved grandmother who was near and dear to my heart. Only two days after her passing, I gave birth to my son. The fluctuation between my emotions of elation and despair brought much confusion and guilt. I continued to self-create feelings of pain, worry, sorrow and stress which in turn deepened my despair.

Not being able to make sense of what was happening around me and within me is when I began my intense search. I decided to start journaling my pent up feelings and deep rooted emotions. I was just going through the motion of life with no real purpose.
