Action Homeless have received a large donation of parcels thanks to a special Ismaili Muslim community collection which took place over the weekend in Leicester. The Share a Smile initiative which was held during the Muslim month of Ramadan, saw Ismaili Muslims volunteering their time to prepare parcels of essential items for vulnerable people in the local community.
350 people and families affected by homelessness who are supported by Action Homeless will receive one of the parcels which contain basic yet essential items including toothpaste, shower gel, socks, shampoo and some food items.
On Saturday 5th July, volunteers at the Ismaili Muslim Community Centre in Hamilton were busy collecting and packing donations in preparation for the delivery the following day.
