Houston's Shia Ismaili Women: Education and Ethics; Women & Religion2009 Video of a panel interview consisting of three women of the Ismaili Muslim faith (Shaida Adatie, Fatima Mawji, and Rishma Visram Mohamed) and one moderator (B. Jill Carroll). The panelists take questions from the moderator, including questions about the current Muslim leader, tradition and roles of women in Islam, Muslim groups that oppose education for women, questions about the hijab, Ismaili Muslims in architecture and construction, and questions about the Jama’at Khana . They then answer questions from the audience about Ismaili Muslims in Houston and the world, financial support, national aid, whether or not anyone can attend a service at the Jama’at Khana, issues with Muslim people in Turkey, and hopes for future public religious accommodations.
