The President of the Republic presided at the XIX Award Ceremony of the NORTH-South Prize of the Council of Europe, and presented the prizes to His Highness the Aga Khan and to the physician Suzanne Jabbour, two individualities who distinguished themselves on behalf of the respect for and dignity of the human being, and for the promotion of inter cultural dialogue amongst peoples.
The ceremony was held in the Senate Hall of the House of Parliament, where President Cavaco Silva addressed a speech.
