Coastweek– “Rays of Light: Glimpses into the Ismaili Imamat,” a photographic and multimedia exhibition depicting His Highness the Aga Khan’s lifelong commitment to improving multiple facets of the human condition, has just concluded in Nairobi.

‘Rays of Light’ is an exhibit that aims to raise awareness of His Highness the Aga Khan’s work in increasing global engagement and promotion of equitable human advancement and social justice throughout the world as part of the mandate of the office of the Ismaili Imamat.

The exhibit is organized around five main themes: Hope, Identity, Confluence, Harmony, and Enlightenment.

During an event for invitees drawn from the Media, Sports and Culture, the Chief Guest, Dr. Yassin, Director of the National Museums of Kenya commended His Highness the Aga Khan, the AKDN and the Ismaili community for collective efforts in overall cultural, social and economic development and particularly in the fields of Kenya’s priority development areas – health, education, business and investments.

Dr. Yassin stated that they have been very interested in learning about the immense global contribution of AKDN in the field of culture.

“The Aga Khan Award for Architecture, the Music and Arts initiatives, the Historical Cities Supports Programme and the Parks and Recreational facilities programme are global benchmarks of leading initiatives in the field of Culture across the world – this is an inspiration for our work at the National Museums as well as we witness the global benchmarks and commitment to quality that underwrites these programmes”, he said.

Several high-level, governmental, civic and institutional leaders, the diplomatic community and the Kenyan Judiciary also toured the exhibit during the week.

Over 5,400 visitors attended the Exhibition.
