Having been raised in an entrepreneurial family, Al-Karim Moloo was always surrounded by optimism and determination that naturally grew to define him in his career and personal life as well. Moloo graduated from the Finance & Accounting program at Grant MacEwan in his hometown of Edmonton.
With interest to explore places beyond his hometown, he moved away from the coldest winters to live in Bermuda for two years working in the reinsurance sector. Carrying his love for the Oilers everywhere he went, he also lived in renowned cities like London, UK and Toronto before he settled into Calgary—a city he continues to proudly call home after 12 years.
Accounting has grown to be somewhat commoditized over the years and Moloo felt that he wanted to separate from that aspect of the industry and customize accounting services to focus more on the individual needs of the client. In late 2012, along with two partners, he co-founded Butalia Raymond and Co. LLP (BRC LLP), a boutique tax and advisory firm located in Kensington.
Aside from being co-founder of BRC LLP and working as their advisory partner, Moloo has a globe-trotting list of credentials. He is a Certified Management Accountant in Alberta, a Fellow Chartered Accountant in the UK, a Chartered Global Management Accountant in the UK and a Certified Practicing Accountant in Australia.
