Shelina Neallani and Malik Talib appointed to the Board of Mulgrave School, West Vancouver

The Board of Directors, or Trustees, is elected each fall at the Annual General Meeting of the Mulgrave Independent School Society.

Shelina NeallaniShelina Neallani
Shelina is a lawyer, mediator and consultant specialising in conflict resolution. She graduated from UBC with degrees in social work and law and has been called to the bar in Ontario and BC. In addition to her private mediation practice, Shelina is a management consultant with Mediate BC Society. She has a number of legal publications and has taught courses at the university level. She was recently appointed a part time adjunct professor at the Faculty of Law, University of British Columbia for the coming academic year. She has been a parent and active volunteer at Mulgrave since 2005. Shelina and her husband, Najeeb Hassan, also a lawyer, have one daughter in senior school at Mulgrave, and one daughter who graduated in the class of 2010.

Malik Talib
Malik Z. Talib is a principal, with his brother Rahim, of the Talmont group of companies which they started while he was practising Tax Law at Thorsteinssons’ Vancouver office. In addition to his business responsibilities, Malik actively engages in the development of organizations and community. He has been appointed by His Highness the Aga Khan in several leadership positions in the Ismaili Muslim community and currently is the President of the Aga Khan Council for Canada. Malik was the Vice-Chair of the Research Institute of BC, has co-chaired the United Way of the Lower Mainland, served as director of the BC Children’s Hospital Foundation and LIFT Philanthropy Partners (formerly, 2010 Legacies Now) and currently serves on the Board of the Vancouver Foundation. Malik and his wife, Shahzma, have been parents at Mulgrave since 2008. They have three children enrolled in the school.
