via nation.co.ke – Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper has invited the Aga Khan to deliver a speech to Canada’s parliament later this month.
The Aga Khan will be making an official visit to Canada.
Address to parliament is a rare privilege normally reserved for heads of state and government.
“Our government is honoured to once again welcome His Highness the Aga Khan to Canada.
Our country has a warm and lasting friendship with His Highness, who was granted honorary Canadian citizenship for his leadership as a champion of international development, pluralism and tolerance around the world,” said Prime Minister Stephen Harper in a press release.
