KABUL, AFGHANISTAN, NOVEMBER 7, 2013. On Thursday, senior representatives of the Aga Khan Development Network (AKDN), the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) and the Government of Afghanistan gathered for the second Steering Committee meeting for the Multi-Input Area Development Global Development Alliance (MIAD GDA).
The MIAD GDA, launched in March, is an innovative partnership between the AKDN and USAID to help improve the quality of life of citizens of Afghanistan’s Badakhshan Province by linking the public and private sectors to support long-term social and economic development. As an advisory body, the Steering Committee oversees and supports the implementation of the MIAD GDA and helps to ensure collaboration among the project’s partners and the Government of Afghanistan.
