Scholarships were announced on Thursday for students who had outperformed others in their 10th grade annual exam result at a ceremony hosted to celebrate high achievers of the Aga Khan University Examination Board (AKU-EB).
“It may come as a disappointment for parents whose children have just finished 12th grade this year. But let’s hope your grandchildren benefit from the scholarships,” said AKU-EB Director Dr Thomas Christie.
“The AKU-EB started with a mission to prepare its candidates for higher education through quality assessment of their understanding and thinking abilities rather than how accurately they can reproduce textbook materials,” he added.
This year, on its 10th anniversary, the AKU-EB awarded 150 distinctions to students in different subjects as well as different area of studies.
