via http://www.nation.co.ke – Parenting experts say that when having a baby, a woman ought to be emotionally, physically and financially prepared for motherhood. While this may be the ideal, is it all achievable?

Stella Ndugi, a mother of two, was 22 when she had her first child, and she believes that her young age was the reason why her body easily bounced back from pregnancy.

She had just moved in with her husband when she found out that she was expecting and while this pregnancy was wanted, it was unplanned. She had both of her children within a year and a half of each other and she easily recovered and had enough energy to look after an infant, a toddler and still attend classes part-time.

“We struggled with cash. It costs a fortune to raise a child and we had two of them and only one source of income,” she says. Looking back, now that her children are older and she is settled in her job, she thinks that although that wasn’t how she had planned it, she would do it again.
