On Saturday July 20, 2013 approximately 15 youth along with Innes Ward Councillor Rainer Bloess – City of Ottawa and his assistant Adam Keshavjee, participated in the clean up and removal of Graffiti from the Blackburn Hamlet Skateboard park.
With the temperature a scorching 35 with the Humidity, Councillor Bloess met the team of youth volunteers at 11:00 am and provided them with supplies to paint the various skateboard ramps and pavement area. The Councillor has been very active in the community and is focused on youth and youth initiatives. Councillor Bloess and Adam also helped with the clean up and painting (see photos).
During the day, youth helped themselves to various snacks and beverages to keep hydrated. At the conclusion of the event, Councillor Bloess delivered a short speech to the youth and family gathered. He thanked all the youth involved in the clean up project for their support and help. At the end of the Councillors speech Adam passed out several swag items to all the youth.
Adam Keshavjee joined Councillor Bloess as an assistant this summer. He has been instrumental in working with the community on various projects and events, as well as responding to residents complaints and concerns.
