Derek Gent: A Vancouverite’s lessons learned in poverty and gratitude - Vancouver SunWorld Partnership Walk/Vancouver Sun: Derek, an MBA graduate from Queen’s University, serves on a number of other non-profit boards, including the Social Investment Organization, Co-operators Insurance Foundation and the National Policy Committee at Imagine Canada. Derek currently serves as Vancouver City Co-Chair for the local advisory council of Aga Khan Foundation Canada (AKFC), including World Partnership Golf and the annual World Partnership Walk event.

We had a chance to sit down with Derek and ask him about his experiences with AKFC over the past 20 years.

Tell us little bit about yourself and your involvement with AKFC and its initiatives

My connection with Aga Khan Foundation Canada goes back about 20 years to the mid-90s.
