Musical evening portrays mystic poetry, traditions - Organized by Aga Khan Cultural Service PakistanTuesday, March 19, 2013 – Islamabad—A musical evening featuring centuries old mystic poetry in Afghanistan and Pakistan was organized here late Sunday evening at Pakistan National Council of Arts (PNCA).

The tradition bearers of Afghanistan, Chitral, Hunza and Peshawar comprised young artists, who performed historic epic tunes with different instruments presenting diverse music traditions of the region.

The event was arranged by Aga Khan Cultural Service Pakistan (AKCSP) in collaboration with the embassy of France in Pakistan to bring together master musicians and tradition bearers for exploring shared values of the mountain communities living both in region.

The musical performances included performances of Ustad Ali Gohar with his team, Wakhi Music Tradition, Pashtu Folk Music, Music from Chitral Rubab tradition of Afghanistan and Mystic Sufi Music from Hunza and Chitral.
