The AKF USA Fellowship offers a unique 18-24 month experience that combines consecutive placements at AKF USA and an AKDN office in Central Asia. The first placement of 9-12 months will be spent in Washington, D.C. with the Programs, Impact Investing, Communications, and/or Finance departments. During the second placement of 9-12 months, fellows will be matched up with an AKDN office in Central Asia. This program offers opportunities to acquire first-hand knowledge on a range of global development issues, gain invaluable international experience and work with seasoned AKDN professionals and beneficiaries. Fellows will receive monthly stipends, round-trip airfare from U.S. locations for placements in Washington, D.C. and Central Asia, and other benefits. The program will begin at the end of Summer 2013.
Candidates should at minimum possess a Bachelor’s degree with an outstanding academic record and excellent writing, research, and computer skills. Experience in an international context, including living overseas, and multiple language skills are highly desirable. Candidates must be eligible to work in the U.S.
