11 year old Alyna Jamal Nanji presents keynote speech at International Day of the Girl, sponsored by the United Nations Association of Canada

11 years young Alyna Jamal Nanji is a Grade 6 student in the Toronto District School Board System. She is also a Peace Tree Ambassador for Peace Tree International promoting peace, diversity and inclusivity, at every opportunity.

Alyna has always been known to possess an acute sense of fairness, inclusion and simply put, what’s right and what’s wrong. Growing up in a cosmopolitan environment and having started travelling at a very young age, Alyna is a strong proponent of multiculturalism and pluralism. In 2009, Alyna travelled to Thailand, Malaysia and Singapore where she immersed herself in the various cultures she encountered. Understanding cultural diversity and incorporating the pursuit of peace and inclusive education has now become a passion for Alyna.
