Clements High School Global Studies Academy students and their families walked to reduce poverty world-wide Saturday, Oct. 27 at Hermann Square.
Other U.S. cities also hosted a Partnership Walk, including Atlanta, Birmingham, Ala., Chicago, Dallas, Los Angeles, Memphis, Tenn., Orlando, Fla., San Antonio and San Francisco.
The yearly walk helps to raise awareness of the extreme poverty suffered by others world-wide.
Student liaison Karim Farishta recruited 180 walkers to join the event, while persuading volunteers to help with the Kid Zone, recycling booth and registration table, according to a Clements High news release.
