By Sana Ajani: A fictional story written from a book’s point of view.
Hmph. I can’t believe it. I haven’t been pored over, not even at least once, in the past month. All I’ve been doing is merely sitting on the nightstand, collecting dust and looking pretty. I wonder what has changed. I miss those old days when Matt would just grab me and spend the whole day perusing me. I remember the times when I would make him cry tears of joy and grief, and also make him seethe with anger. I used to provide him with happiness and entertainment, allowing him to reflect on his past, but also allowing him to imagine the future. Because that’s what I do, that’s what my whole family of books does; we take those who read us on exhilarating adventures by letting them absorb themselves into the story we tell.
