East Africa: ‘Patchy progress’ on childhood education

East Africa: ‘Patchy progress’ on childhood education-Excerpt- “The school and classroom environment contribute both directly and indirectly to children’s learning. A conducive learning environment is where children feel safe and are engaged in various learning activities in and out of class,” says Dr Lilian Indira Vikiru, an assistant Professor at Aga Khan University-Institute for Educational Development, East Africa.

She says for any effective learning to take place, the school should offer a child-friendly environment that has the necessary sanitation (clean toilets and safe clean water).
