Since 1999, St. John’s-Kilmarnock students and staff have travelled to Nepal to visit the mountainous country and assist Himalayan communities in need. In March, 2010 a delegation of SJK faculty led by Rob Spackman signed a Friendship and Partnership Agreement with Sri Dhauleshowary Lower Secondary School and Yangrima Boarding School ensuring that the relationship between SJK and these Himalayan communities continues. To this end, a sixth team of SJK students and teachers will travel to Nepal from March 10-29, 2011 for a service trek to assist in community and school development in the villages of Thakani and Yangrima.
