Munira Manji speaks on cyberbullying at Fort McMurray Public School District seminar

A five-part series put on by the Fort McMurray Public School District titled, Going Beyond Cyber-Bullying, had it’s first seminar Wednesday night with hopes of informing parents about the complicated world of online abuse.

A follow up to a webinar on cyber-bullying that was held in April, the series will provide parents in Wood Buffalo with tools to help address and identify signs of cyber-bullying.

“This is a follow up session that talks about the causes of bullying, what parents can do about it and how we can help our kids,” said Munira Manji, chair of FMPSD parent information sessions committee.

Manji explained the effects of cyber-bullying vary widely and noted that children can experience a number of disorders as a result.
