Most Canadians will welcome the decision by the Tory government to cut taxpayer subsidies for political parties if the right and the only way to go. I have written about this in the past.
Now that Prime Minister Stephen Harper has the majority in the House of Commons, this bill will pass without any trouble. I have always regarded funding political parties through direct federal subsidies not the right thing.
If political parties want the money to fight an election, they must raise the money themselves.
