Opinion Sultan Jessa: The world must act immediately to bring relief to the Horn of AfricaA gigantic humanitarian crisis is threatening 11 million people in the rain-starved Horn of Africa.

The last time a major famine was declared in East Africa was in 1984-1985, when a catastrophic drought struck Ethiopia and left more than one million people dead.

This time the consequences will be far more severe.

The United Nations has already declared famine in parts of Somalia.

Ethiopia and parts of Kenya are also affected by the severe drought.

According to the latest information from the United Nations, 3.7 million people in the Horn of Africa risk starvation.

A group of over 50 Pilots, Aircraft Engineers and other support staff are heading to Sudan to support the UN mission (UMISS). We will be working with UTair, the largest air transport services Provider for the United Nations. Hopefully our visas will be issued in the next few days
Also some of us are working as a team to provide mobile water processing plants using the hollow fiber ultra filter system. This system can take any source of water and process it to drink-
able quality. The system can process 3000bph. The Blue Nile and The White Nile, lots of water
just not where it is needed.
Any help with this project is welcome
